Lindner overcomes challenges to install shredder in Guernsey
31 January 2020UK: Austrian shredder producer Lindner has released details about the installation of a Polaris 1800 shredder on the island of Guernsey in the English Channel. The machine was installed in early 2019 on behalf of Island Waste, part of the Guernsey Recycling Group, to produce solid recovered fuels (SRF). Upon delivery challenges had to be overcome including limited availability of hoisting equipment. At present he shredder processes around 8t/hr of municipal waste into SRF.
Deuna receives state-of-the-art SRF production facility
22 August 2019Germany: Dyckerhoff has installed a solid recovered fuel processer at Germany’s largest capacity cement plant in Deuna, Thuringia. Lindner has stated that it installed the production line, consisting of four Lindner shredders and developed by B+T Group, during the overhaul phase without disruption to Deuna’s 2.4Mt/yr capacity output. B+T will provide a constant supply of mostly pre-sorted non-recyclable post-consumer packaging and rubber and textile waste. This will feed Deuna’s rotary kilns with sustainably-sourced fuel at a rate of 720t/day.
Lindner to release new Micromat HP series in late 2017
22 August 2017Germany: Lindner plans to release its new Micromat HP series of plastic and universal shredders at the Fakuma plastics processing trade fair in October 2017. The new models in the High Performance (HP) range follow the existing Micromat 2000 and 2500 single shaft shredders but the manufacturer says that the new machines offer up to a 30% increase in output. This has been achieved by re-designing the rotor geometry to allow the knives to be used more efficiently per rotation. An optimised Siemens control unit has also been included. The shredders come with a 132kW or 160kW motor driving the rotor with a speed of 105RPM depending on customer requirements.
The upgraded line has been created in response to increasing European environmental targets and expected rises in the recycling rate of plastic packaging. Following these changes the shredder producer anticipates that recycling companies and producers of secondary raw materials will require more output while using the same space.
Brazil: Lindner Recyclingtech is promoting its Urraco 75 moblie shredder for use with refuse derived fuel (RDF) in Brazil and other South American markets. Following the introduction of a landfilling ban in 2015 is hoping to benefit from clients using its products to shred materials such as eucalyptus bark in addition to conventional sources such as municipal waste. The Austrian engineering company uses Siebert & Cia, which operates from Curitiba in Paraná, as its sales partner in the country.
Germany: Thomas Strobl, the Deputy Minister-President of Baden-Württemberg, has opened Alba Nordbaden’s refuse-derived fuel (RDF) plant in Karlsruhe. The plant has an RDF production capacity of 33,000t/yr for use at power and cement plants. The unit uses a Lindner Polaris 2800 shredder that can shred materials to 80mm or less in a single step, according to Construction Cayola. Alba Nordbaden specified a crusher that could handle an input rate of 20t/hr.
