CapMan Growth Equity III Invests in Tana Oy
08 April 2024Finland: Circular materials processing equipment specialist Tana Oy has received an initial investment from the CapMan Growth Equity III fund. Other participating investors include Elo Mutual Pension Insurance Company. The new funding is intended to fuel Tana Oy's further expansion. The company said that the Kangas family remain its primary owners.
Tana Oy expects to record €65m in turnover in the 2024 financial year (1 April 2023 – 31 March 2024). It maintained over 20% year-on-year growth in turnover over multiple previous years.
Fornnax launches SR-200 HD dual-shaft primary shredder
22 March 2024India: Fornnax launched its new SR-200 HD dual-shaft primary shredder on 20 March 2024. The supplier says that the launch signifies a major advancement in the field. The SR-200 HD shredder is specially adapted for tyre-derived fuel production. Its slow-speed shafts produce up to 200,000Nm of torque, allowing it to process the most challenging materials. Fornnax secured six pre-launch orders for the shredder, from India, Australia, the Middle East and Europe.
AMSCO Wear Products acquires Global Partners Alliance
11 December 2023US: AMSCO Wear Products has announced its acquisition of wear parts supplier Global Partners Alliance. Following the deal, AMSCO Wear Products will also become the exclusive sales agent for Germany-based Stahlwerke Bochum, which supplies equipment including heat-treated alloy hammers, in North America.
AMSCO Wear Products vice president Sharon Morris said "We've always been committed to offering our customers the best wear-resistant castings for metals recycling, surface mining and waste-to-energy industries. When the opportunity to purchase Global Wear Products and partner directly with Stahlwerke Bochum came up, we were eager to work together. Knowing they had a great product and seeing how our values aligned, it was an easy decision.”
Brazil: Secil Supremo Cimentos has appointed FLSmidth to carry out a pyro process upgrade at its Adrianópolis cement plant in Paraná. The Denmark-based supplier says that it plans to carry out modifications on the plant's preheater, cooler and related auxiliary equipment. It says the new equipment will expand the plant's capacity to 3900t/day, corresponding to an annual production capacity of 1.42Mt/yr. It will also enable it to increase its alternative fuel (AF) substitution rate to 40%. Secil Supremo Cimentos' AF mix consists of shredded tyres, wood and other refuse-derived fuels.
FLSmidth's head of capital sales, Jens Jonas Skov Larsen, said “We are grateful for our continued partnership with Supremo, which has consistently invested in the latest technology. As the plant was already operating an ILC five-stage preheater from FLSmidth, it was well positioned to use AF.”
Thai cement plant installs ThyssenKrupp Polysius' Prepol SC alternative fuels system
19 January 2023Thailand: ThyssenKrupp Polysius says that it has successfully supplied and installed a Prepol SC alternative fuels (AF) system at a 12Mt/yr cement plant in Thailand. The system will supply the plant's four lines with 4000t/day of AF.
ThyssenKrupp Polysius' Asia Pacific CEO Lukas Schoeneck said "Asia Pacific, with its tremendous municipal solid waste (MSW) problem, is ideal when it comes to replacing coal with AF. The Prepol SC technology significantly reduces the need to treat MSW before using the inherent calorific value. Additionally, it helps to further reduce the ambitious CO2 limit targets in the region."
Vecoplan opens Ferrara service and sales office
21 December 2022Italy: Vecoplan has announced the inauguration of its new Ferraro service and sales office in Emilia-Romagna. The supplier says that the facility has sufficient space for it to work on entire machines. In the future, it will also offer welding services for special components, including rotors.
Vecoplan's services head Jochen Pfeil said “The new warehouse will enable us to increase the availability of our machines and plants."
Fives to supply Pillard NOVAFLAM burner to cement plant in France
30 September 2022France: Fives has secured a contract to supply a 65MW Pillard NOVAFLAM burner to a cement producer. The customer’s aims are to continue to maximise alternative fuel (AF) use, to improve clinker quality and to reduce NOx emissions at its cement plant. The order also includes precalciner burners and a natural gas-powered 35MW Pillard hot gas generator, as well as valve trains and pumping systems.
KÇS Kipaş Çimento orders Pyrorotor from KHD Humboldt Wedag
17 August 2022Turkey: KÇS Kipaş Çimento has placed an order with KHD Humboldt Wedag for a Pyrorotor for its Kahramanmaraş cement plant. The supplier says that the equipment will enable the plant's calciner to achieve an alternative fuel (AF) substitution rate of 90%. It will additionally restrict NOx emissions to 800mg/Nm3. After a short shutdown for assemblage of gas duct connections, KHD expects to commission the upgraded system in mid-to-late 2023.
The company says that the KÇS Kipaş Çimento contract represents its 11th Pyrorotor order globally and the first in Turkey.
Entsorga supplies solid recovered fuels storage, feeding and dosing systems to Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa
11 March 2022Indonesia: Entsorga has dispatched two Spider bridge cranes and two Pelican feeding and dosing systems for the construction of two new solid recovered fuel (SRF) storage, feeding and dosing systems at Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa’s 11.9Mt/yr Citeureup cement plant in Bogor Regency. The systems will have a total capacity of 50t/hr. An advanced supervision system will monitor and control their 24-hour operation. The Italy-based supplier says that both lines are highly automated and will reduce both CO2 emissions and fuel consumption.
CEO Francesco Galanzino “The systems will help the cement plant to maintain its 2030 sustainability commitments, in line with the policies of HeidelbergCement who is a real first mover in the path toward sustainability. Such project it is a very important step in a Country where environmental policies are in their early stage.”
India: ACC and Ambuja Cements have together installed a Geocycle Bubble Barrier plastic waste separator in Bhakra Beas Management Board Lake at Sunder Nagar, Himachal Pradesh. The installation will collect the waste for use as refuse-derived fuel at ACC’s Gagal cement plant in the state.
The Holcim India subsidiaries’ first such installation, on the Mantola Canal in Uttar Pradesh, has collected 500t of plastic waste since its commissioning in April 2021, and is targetting a total of 2400t in 2022.
