City Cement and Tadweer Environmental Services launch alternative fuels joint venture
11 September 2023Saudi Arabia: City Cement has announced that its waste management subsidiary Green Solutions for Environmental Services (GSES) has launched a new company to produce alternative fuel (AF) for local and overseas markets. The company is a joint venture in which GSES holds a 29% stake, with the majority stake held by Public Investment Fund subsidiary Tadweer Environmental Services. The joint venture has US$1.8m-worth of capital.
City Cement Company to launch waste management unit
22 June 2021Saudi Arabia: City Cement Company has issued articles of association and registered a new 100% subsidiary. The unit will operate in the area of waste management. The board of directors of City Cement approved the move in March 2021.
Al-Safwa Cement to use carbon ash from SEC as fuel
01 June 2017Saudi Arabia: Al-Safwa Cement has signed a deal to use carbon ash from SEC as an alternative fuel at its cement plant. The ash will be used as an additional fuel with heavy fuel oil. Oil residues from SEC’s power plants will also be used, according to the Arab News newspaper. The agreement is expected to last seven years.
Eco Green installs tyre shredder at National Region Cement
20 February 2017Saudi Arabia: Eco Green has installed a tyre shredding system at the National Region Cement plant. The cement producer ordered a two-shaft primary shredder, according to Recycling Product News. Also known as the Eco Green Giant, the shredder can process up to 30t/hr of whole tyres and it has an output range of 5 – 15cm.
